I had this issue too on the Crosshair Hero VIII with a 6800. It would be somewhat random. Sometimes I’d boot fine, others I’d hit GPU errors. I had this behaviour both with and without my riser cable. If it did boot without hitting a POST code or flipping CSM on it would work perfectly fine.
I’m on 3103, forcing the slot to PCIe 3.0 mode completely avoids the problem.
In PCIe 4.0 mode I found that increasing SOC voltages and reseating the graphics card helped. Running 2 sticks of RAM vs 4 also seemed to reduce GPU POST errors. The riser cable didn’t seem to make a difference in my case but I imagine it’s more likely to make things worse in general.
Interesting, I tried setting my PCIe slot to GEN 3 but the problem occurred again. I might play around with the SOC voltages.
I’ve been doing some other troubleshooting:
Now the question is why does the display type have any bearing on the motherboard correctly or incorrectly interpreting the presence of UEFI/GOP on the graphics card? Surely this is on the card or not, and the type of display should not impact boot.
This behaviour is unique to this motherboard though, as I said the exact configuration worked okay with the previous motherboard (Maximus VIII Hero).
I have a feeling that anything in the overall configuration that causes instability or latency can cause this issue. RAM should never reasonably cause GPU errors but it did in my case. I imagine if the GPU is slow to respond to the POST sequence due to the monitors plugged in it might cause similar issues.
Many monitors have options in their settings to disable deep sleep type modes or enable a fast wake mode. I’d take a look to see if those are available on yours.
I have the same problem but I have a Rift S plugged in. It’s because of the sleep profile of the monitor and the rift being interpreted as the primary monitor.
I resolve the issue by unplugging the rift until I need it.

I set up my new Dark Hero build a few days ago, and I occasionally get this error on POST.
«The VGA card is not supported by UEFI driver.
CSM (Compability Support Module) settings have been changed
For further adjustments, press [F1] to enter BIOS setup
The message only comes when the monitor has gone into deep sleep mode overnight and then I turn on the computer. It also seems to happen if I turn the PC/Monitor on in a certain way but I haven’t really figured out how to trigger it exactly.
The monitor is an ASUS PG35VQ, connected via DisplayPort. There is also a Valve Index plugged in via HDMI.
My graphics card is a Nvidia 3080 Founder’s Edition. I never saw this message on my Asus Maximus Hero VIII motherboard that I was using previously with CSM disasbled and the same graphics card.

This is interesting. I have a pretty similar setup; Dark Hero, 3090 Founders, Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ monitor and Valve Index, but I haven’t gotten this error.
Are you still on the stock BIOS? If so, it’s not very good and you should upgrade to the latest via BIOS flashback immediately. It could fix your issue.
also try with another monitor or try with display port of monitor to video card
I am using BIOS 3103 at the moment, I think the problem also happened on 3003 as well but can’t remember exactly.
Yes, enabling CSM solves the problem (and the motherboard enables that automatically when it finds this error) but I never had to do that with my previous motherboard. I noticed that in the BIOS in the VBIOS information section it says it does not detect a GPU in there. I’m pretty sure in the last motherboard there was some information available here.

CSM should not be enabled with modern graphics cards such as the 30-series. Secure boot / UEFI should be enabled with CSM disabled on all graphics cards with UEFI boot.
The above post is poor advice that is straight up wrong.
Thanks RedSector, yes I don’t think disabling CSM and Secure Boot is a solution. There isn’t anything wrong with the graphics card, monitor or cable seeing as it all worked fine with the previous motherboard. Just seems to be a problem with the motherboard when the computer starts with the display in sleep mode.

Thanks, latest chipset drivers from AMD are installed and no HAL(12) error in the Event Viewer as far as I can see.
I looked at the Q-Code on the motherboard when this happens and it is 02.
I’m using a VESA-certified cable between the monitor and the PC but not had the opportunity to test another yet.

BIOS 2203, 2407 VGA Card not Supported by UEFI Driver
I have a ROG Strix X570 Gaming F that has been running OK on BIOS 1407. It is paired with a RX5700XT. So far I have had issues with the comuter restarting when waking from sleep (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea. 723#post806723). Further to this my computer will randomly power off whilst keeping the motherboard illumination lit. However, on trying to start the computer, the power button does nothing. Nothing powers up. If I power cycle the PSU, the computer starts fine.
I have decided to test the new BIOS from Asus to see if this resolves any of the issues. However, I have had issues with both 2203 and 2407. After completing the update, the bios advises that the VGA card isn’t supported by the UEFI driver. The card is a Powercolor X5700xt RedDevil and has been fine with 1407. After restarting the computer loads Windows and runs fine. However, after the first shutdown, I am unable to start the computer with the motherboard unable to pass past the white VGA diagnostic LED. After restarting, it will only get to the DRAM LED and no further. This is similar to (https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/commen. trix_x570f_to/)
As a result I have had to roll back to 1407. This isa new computer built only two months ago. How can I be having these issues. Has anyone experienced this issues or know why they may be happenning?

I am having the same issue:
ROG Strix x570-F
Ryzen 7 3800XT
Radeon 5700XT
After a fresh install of Windows 10, and then a restart, I get the same message. Have you found a fix for this?

My XFX one did, although going though all the crap for it ( reinstalling the OS ) it ended up being totally a waste of time, and must be some thing else i reverted back because i just remember why lol.
I do know after i got it to work in UEFI i changed back pretty soon after.
I believe there were only a few that supported it.

You about gigabyte 6970?
Yep, seemed like a bunch of people were trying to flash their cards because of it. which was the reason i tried it but it aint worth it .
EDIT: Some reason i remember some thing about the HDD’s GPT or some thing, as back then i was using about 10 HDD’s in raid.
