Jiraiya Workout Routine: Train like Naruto’s Godfather!

Last updated on August 1st, 2021 at 07:48 pm

Jiraiya is one of my favorite Naruto characters.

After already seeing Minato this week (and we’ll see a few more as well from Naruto); we’re definitely adding a good handful to our Naruto Inspired Workout Database.

Jiraiya will also be another character that brings us closer to lists showing off both the most popular Naruto characters AND the most powerful.

So, it’s safe to say our Anime Workouts Database is definitely looking better with his company.

Jiraiya Stats:

Real Name: Jiraiya

Height: 6’2

Weight: 192 lbs.

Powers: Yes

Jiraiya is actually quite tall and heavy (well-built) compared to many anime male characters we’ve seen.

Obviously he doesn’t compare to characters like All Might and Endeavor, but the average is much shorter.

Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.

One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.

We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.

Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.

But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Jiraiya Diet and Nutrition

**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**

Every hero needs to still have a good diet.

Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.

You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.

You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.

Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.

It’s all about sustainability.

AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!

Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Jiraiya Workout Routine Research

We’ve made it to “the fun part”.

And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.

Starting off with Jiraiya’s Wiki Fandom bio we can gauge a bit about his character before moving into his powers and abilities section.

Jiraiya was one of Konohagakure’s Sannin. Famed as a hermit and pervert of stupendous ninja skill, Jiraiya travelled the world in search of knowledge that would help his friends, the various novels he wrote, and, posthumously, the world in its entirety – knowledge that would be passed on to his godson and final student, Naruto Uzumaki.

So we saw Naruto’s father and godfather back to back.

And both are extremely powerful as well.

Here’s what his Wiki Fandom has to say about his overall powers and abilities:

Jiraiya was an exceptionally powerful shinobi, hailed as one of the greatest ninja of his generation and that Konoha ever produced. His true recognition came during the Second Shinobi World War when proved able to compete against Hanzō and his giant salamander Ibuse, and was dubbed a Sannin. Renowned groups like the Uchiha Clan and Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist paled in comparison. Kisame Hoshigaki viewed Jiraiya as being leagues above himself, while Itachi Uchiha says if he and Jiraiya fought it would be a stalemate, even with assistance. He was offered to become Hokage three times, and would have been offered a fourth one had he lived longer. Kakashi, also among the most powerful shinobi Konoha ever produced, found the idea of Jiraiya being single-handedly defeated absurd. In truth, the assumed Akatsuki leader Nagato openly admitted that he would have lost had Jiraiya prior knowledge of the Six Paths of Pain, which Tobi felt is a major testament to the Sannin’s abilities. Upon death, he became one of the individuals Kabuto Yakushi most wanted to reincarnate for war. Decades later, Jiraiya’s might was still revered as a clone was made of him.

They also continue on to talk about his Chakra and physical prowess:

Jiraiya has chakra reserves large enough to summon Gamabunta and chakra potent enough to use senjutsu. He was masterful with his chakra control, able to perform a Rasengan in both hands at the same time, or even carve messages with his chakra despite it being disrupted. He also was knowledgeable enough of genjutsu to teach others how to break free from it. His raw might is also considerable, able to fling Naruto several metres with a single finger tap. In the anime, he is shown lifting and throwing large boulders, as well as kicking away some of the Giant Multi-Headed Dogs.

Jiraiya was also remarkably resilient, able to withstand a lot of damage before going down. He could survive a full on kick from Might Guy with barely a scratch, and even attacks from summons as big as Gamabunta. Due to this resilience, he has only been brought to the brink of death twice: against Naruto Uzumaki’s Four-Tailed Form and Tsunade’s monster strength, and even Nagato had a difficult time inflicting lethal damage on his old master using the Six Paths of Pain.

So for this one we’re going to be trying to get big and strong like Jiraiya.

Instead of training with calisthenics like we’ve done in the past with a handful of Naruto characters we’re going to be using weight training for both size and strength, and then tack on a day for endurance and/or optional ninja-style training.

Yuuri Workout Routine: Train like Yuuri from Yuri. On Ice!

I have put off writing a Yuuri Katsuki Workout for a while now.

But now the requests to have our Yuri. On Ice Inspired Workout are just too loud to ignore.

We’ve obviously been putting a top priority in growing out our Anime Workouts Database and adding as many new anime inspired workouts to SHJ as possible, but I didn’t realize how many of you really wanted to see Yuuri until you all came together and flooded my inbox!

Last week we finally had our first ever sports-themed anime shows featured with our Shoyo Hinata Workout and our Tetsuya Kuroko Workout coming from Haikyu!! and Kuroko’s Basketball, and with the additional of Yuuri’s inspired workout it will bring us into another section as well as far as I’m concerned.

Yuuri Stats:

Real Name: Yuuri Katsuki

Height: 5’8

Weight: 130-135 lbs.

Powers: No

At 5’8 Yuuri might not seem tall, but compared to other anime male characters he’s definitely not short either.

Although his 130-135 lbs. does put him in a much more lean and slender physique category.

Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.

But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Yuuri Workout Routine Research

We’ve made it to “the fun part”.

And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.

Yuuri’s Wiki Fandom (where we generally pull our information and research from for the inspiration to build these routines) is quite short, but we’ll still work with what we have until we need to pull from elsewhere.

Their short bio states this about Yuuri:

Yuri Katsuki is a competitive figure skater and is the protagonist of Yuri. on Ice.

Thankfully they go into a bit more detail in his personality section.

Here’s what they give us for that:

Yuri is known to be “the figure skater with the world’s biggest glass heart.” He is soft-hearted and easily devastated in the face of failure ーso much so that he can slip into a depression for months at a time. He is a kind, quiet and easily embarrassed boy, but he is also shown to be stubborn and extremely competitive.

After being taken under Victor Nikiforov’s wing as a student, Yuri begins to steadily develop more confidence in himself. He becomes determined to chase his dreams, and even brushes off most of Yuri Plisetsky’s attempts to insult or humiliate him. However, he still becomes easily discouraged and anxious and doesn’t know how to deal with being the person to beat.

During competitions, he tends to be a bit colder and more self-centered due to his anxiety and competitive nature but is learning to pay more attention to those around him thanks to Victor.

Obviously Yuuri is a much different character than we’re used to writing routines around here, so we’re going to have to think a bit outside the box.

We know some of his strengths as a figure skater are:

So for this one we’ll be working with calisthenics and endurance training primarily, but we’ll also want to make sure we are building a strong core, legs and constantly burning fat and staying lean.

Shinobu Kocho Workout Routine: Train like Demon Slayer Insect Hashira!

Last updated on August 4th, 2021 at 07:56 pm

I keep mentioning the fact that Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen are two of our quickest growing anime when it comes to character requests.

The SHJ Army wants more Demon Slayer Inspired Workouts!

At this rate we’ll be getting a Demon Slayer Mini-Workout Database within our Anime Workouts Database in no time.

We already got one for DBZ, Naruto, MHA and ATLA, but Demon Slayer is getting there!

So far we’ve drawn inspiration from characters like Tanjiro, Nezuko, Sabito, and Giyu!

This week I decided it’s time to bring in another powerful female to the growing list.

Shinobu Kocho Stats:

Real Name: Shinobu Kocho

Height: 4’11

Weight: 82 lbs.

Anime: Demon Slayer

Powers: Yes

Even for having the appearance of an 18 year old, Shinobu Kocho is extremely short and light.

She’s actually one of the shortest females we’ve seen at SHJ.

Supergirl and Erza Scarlet were our shortest at 5’5 before Wasp came in at 5’4 and Kale, Anna and Nina Williams matching her there. BUT, now we have Caulifla at 4’8 and Sailor Moon at 4’11! Katana is just behind her at 5’2.

We had Wonder Woman come in standing 6’0 tall, Mockingbird and Hawkgirl at 5’9, Mystique, Miss Martian, and Sonya Blade at 5’10, and Storm 5’11.

But the average height for female celebrities on the site is generally more-so ranging from 5’4-5’6 – and our Black Widow is just above that at 5’7 with Spider-Gwen, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy at 5’8.

And, the tallest we’d seen before She-Hulk was Starfire at 6’4!

But don’t worry, either way.

Not only are these routines for all shapes and sizes – they also work for both men and women – regardless of the gender of the hero.

Shinobu Kocho Workout Routine Research

We’ve made it to “the fun part”.

And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.

As always: we’re going to start by pulling from Shibobu Kocho’s Wiki Fandom to learn a bit about her before we move into specific powers and abilities that we can build a routine around.

Here’s what they have to say:

Shinobu Kocho is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the current Insect Hashira.

When Shinobu was a child, she lived a happy life with her family, including her older sister, Kanae Kocho. One day, a Demon attacked their home and killed her parents, but she was saved by Gyomei Himejima and promised to join the Demon Slayer Corps to protect others from ever suffering the same fate as them.

For the sake of building this routine we’re actually going to be focusing in on her overall abilities and powers more-so than utilizing her appearance as a more cosplay buildout.

Here’s what her Wiki Fandom tells us about her overall strengths:

Overall Abilities: As a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Shinobu is a very powerful swordsman. Despite not possessing the physical strength to cut off a Demon’s head common to that of an average Demon Slayer or even the superhuman abilities possessed by her fellow Hashira, Shinobu is nonetheless as dangerous and deadly as the rest of them. As the Insect Hashira, Shinobu utilizes an insect-based combat style.

So for this one we won’t be training for super-strength per se, but still well above average strength.

Actually, enough so for it to still be listed as one of her main powers:

These are the things we’re going to be training around.

They also make specific mention to how talented of a Swordsman she is, which is something we need to keep in mind while preparing as well:

For this we’ll be using strength training, endurance, HIIT and even some added mixed martial arts and parkour if you have time for the extra training.

Sukuna Workout Routine: Train like Jujutsu Kaisen King of Curses!

Last updated on August 13th, 2021 at 04:44 pm

It’s basically going to be a Jujutsu Kaisen and Naruto dominated week this week.

Naruto already has it’s own mini-workout-database within our Anime Workouts Database that hosts all of it’s workouts inspired by characters of the show; but Jujutsu Kaisen will be joining them [and others] soon!

We have already seen our Yuji Itadori Inspired Workout, our Satoru Gojo Workout, and even characters like Aoi Todo, Megumi Fushiguro and Maki Zenin – and this week we’ve tacked on Panda and Nobara Kugisaki!

But now it’s time for Yuji’s second half!

Sukuna Stats:

Real Name: Ryomen Sukuna

Height: N/A

Weight: N/A

Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen

Powers: Yes

Sukuna’s Wiki Fandom states: “His past appearance is described as a demon with four arms and two faces.”

But technically right now Sukuna is taking on Yuji’s appearance.

Sukuna Workout Routine Research

We’ve made it to “the fun part”.

And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.

Starting off with Sukuna’s Wiki Fandom page, they actually have a lot to say in comparison to some other character’s we’ve seen from Jujutsu Kaisen’s bio sections.

Here’s how they start off:

Ryomen Sukuna, more often called just Sukuna, is a mighty cursed spirit known as the undisputed King of Curses. He serves as one of the primary antagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen.

According to a legend, during the golden age of jujutsu over 1,000 years ago, Sukuna was an Imaginary Demon, though in truth was a human sorcerer, and other sorcerers gave their all to defeat him. After his death, he became a cursed spirit, and his curse was too strong for his body to be fully destroyed. Henceforth, his remains of 20 indestructible fingers, preserved in grave wax, traversed the ages as cursed objects, ever growing in power. In the present, Sukuna has been incarnated into Yuji Itadori due to the latter eating one of his cursed fingers, which contain his fragmented power.

When they begin moving into his powers and abilities section that’s when we really start to find out just how powerful he is.

Here’s how they start off with his overall powers:

Overall Skill Level: Sukuna is a special grade cursed spirit. As the most powerful cursed spirit, Sukuna has a vast amount of cursed energy.

Incarnation: Sukuna will incarnate into whoever eats his fingers, gaining a physical, human body in the process. Upon Yuji consuming the first of his fingers, Sukuna immediately came to possess his body.

Metamorphosis: Sukuna can create new eyes and mouths on his host, allowing him to see and speak without controlling the body of the host. For example, he made a single eye and fanged mouth on Yuji’s left cheek to belittle and taunt him.

From there they begin moving into the powers and abilities we’ll be able to utilize to begin making this routine.

Immense Strength: In Yuji’s body, Sukuna possesses tremendous physical strength and managed to fling a person through several building floors without effort. Even in an incomplete state, he easily overpowered the likes of a finger bearer, a special-grade curse.

Immense Speed: Sukuna has shown to move at incredible speed, which his opponent didn’t even notice that Sukuna has moved until it is too late.

Immense Reflexes: Sukuna can easily counter any opponent and is fast enough for his opponent to not even realize that their limb has been cut off.

Immense Durability: Even in Itadori’s body, Sukuna can use cursed energy to bolster his host’s resilience. Sukuna was punched through five buildings and shown to be completely fine.

So basically we need to become overpowered!

We’ll be basing this one specifically around strength and speed, which thankfully we can do at the same time with the right routine.

We will also be putting that speed to the test with some high intensity interval training as well.

This one will be a lot of volume and training considering who we’re training to become!
